Robert Shumake, President and Chief Executive Officer of Inheritance Capital Group, LLC (ICG), is a prominent private equity investor and developer of both commercial and residential real estate. Since launching ICG in 2005, Shumake has successfully secured funding for a wide range of ventures, including small businesses, mortgage financing, commercial leases, and niche development projects. Under his leadership, the firm has built a real estate portfolio approaching 3 million square feet and exceeding 200 million dollars in value.

Before establishing ICG, Shumake served as Owner and President of First Equity Holdings, where he directed the management and disposition of 85% of the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) property inventory in Michigan. In recognition of his achievements at FEH, Shumake received a Presidential appointment to the Federal Home Loan Bank Board of Directors.

During his service on the Board, Shumake chaired both the Affordable Housing Committee and the Finance Committee for Michigan and Indiana. He also received bipartisan recognition in Michigan, earning gubernatorial appointments from both Republican and Democratic administrations to the Board of Real Estate Brokers and Salespersons, where he oversaw licensing and regulatory matters for real estate professionals, as well as to the Governor’s Council for Health and Fitness.

In addition to his role as President and CEO of Inheritance Capital Group, LLC, Robert Shumake is CEO of Shumake Global Partners, L3C, an organization focused on delivering socially responsible services in energy, healthcare, and financial solutions.

Shumake is deeply engaged in youth development as both a mentor and a philanthropist. When he is not sharing his expertise through speaking engagements designed to encourage and equip emerging leaders, he is organizing fundraising initiatives that help young people become productive and engaged citizens. The Robert Shumake Scholarship Relays, a program of the Shumake Family and Friends Foundation, has awarded more than 30 college scholarships since its launch in 2005. In 2012, Shumake was named Honorary Consul General of Botswana and Tanzania.
